This is an original state-issued WWI medal awarded by New York State for wartime service.Obverse features a right-facing infantryman with a winged Victory behind him and the inscription "WORLD WAR" above. Reverse shows the New York State coat of arms surrounded by an open-ended wreath with the inscription "FOR SERVICE 1917-1919 PRESENTED BY THE STATE OF NEW YORK." Ribbon banners list BELGIUM ITALY SIBERIA on the left and FRANCE GERMANY RUSSIA on the right. Includes the original ribbon with brooch pinback.Condition: Vintage used condition with wear on the ribbon and typical age patina and wear on the bronze medal.
