It has 5 selectable PWM rates in positive or negative format, accommodating virtually every PWMable fan controller in use today. It also has special selections for driving Solid State Relays (SSR's) to vary DC fans with no fuss. Easy 2-button programming makes setting the temperature span a snap, just run the engine and press one button at your "turn on" setpoint, another button at your "full speed" setpoint. The device remembers the voltages and varies the fan speed between the two points. It also has an override pin for use with A/C compressors, and you can choose full speed or +50% speed with the compressor active. The hookup is 5 simple wires using " fastons from any parts store (power, ground, sensor signal, PWM output, and override if used). It also has a pin supplying a precision 5-volt reference source for use with DIY sensors. The device can stand 225 degF, so it's perfectly comfortable living on top of the fan or anyplace else in your engine box.
