Any other seller on eBay selling this item is selling a Chinese knock off. I designed this, I print it and I ship it. This is a US veteran owned and made product. THIS IS NOT AN OEM OR AFTERMARKET MAJOR MANUFACTURER PRODUCED PART! It is an original design that I created and did R&D to make.If you would like to make a bulk purchase of 10 or more gaskets at once please contact me through eBay message before making a purchase. I can do a better discounted price than advertised here for large bulk orders. I can also give you an expected shipping speed depending on how many gaskets you want. What you are buying is a part I designed and I produce by 3D printing. If you are reading this you already know GM does not sell this part any longer, and when they did you had to buy the entire assembly just to get the gasket. To be perfectly clear this IS NOT an exact copy of the original design. This gasket is something I designed that I can produce on a 3D printer. The material I print the gasket out of is Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). TPU is petroleum-resistant and has a melting point of 428 Fahrenheit (220 Celsius), normal engine heat will not affect it. My gasket is flexible and does not have the semirigid properties of the OEM part. It will seal the plastic hat to the throttle body when installed correctly and the hat wing nut is snugged down hand tight. What I'm selling is a replacement intake hat gasket for GM Vortec engines based on the Generation 1 Small Block Chevrolet engine and the 4.3 liter V6 engines. I have confirmed that it will fit the 4.3 engines that have the same throttle body as pictured.I designed and tested this gasket on my 1998 5.7 Vortec c3500 truck. It has been confirmed to fit the Vortec 305 and Vortec 4.3 engines that use the same throttle body. It has been confirmed to fit the S-10/S-15 4.3 trucks and blazers with the same throttle body. It will fit the vans as well. I have personally confirmed the gasket fits a 2005 GMT800 platform 1500 4.3 Vortec truck so it should fit the 1999-2006 GMT800 v6 trucks. If your intake hat/adapter has a part number matching 15998532, 15998577, 25147204, or 25147235 it will fit. These are 3D-printed parts, they will have minor cosmetic imperfections. They will fully function for the job they have been designed to do. Depending on filament availability you might receive a gasket of a different color, if I'm out of the advertised
color I will make every effort to post a picture of the current
color in stock. This is not a part that is seen unless the intake hat is removed from the throttle body, I print them in bright colors so any damage from repeated installation and removal of the hat is readily apparent. Before ordering, PLEASE inspect your throttle body hat for cracks (see example pictures), paying close attention to the front where the metal clip is riveted to the plastic. The easiest way to find a crack is to shine a bright light around the outside of the hat while inspecting the gasket seating area. If you have a crack, a new gasket isn't going to solve your vacuum leak. The new gasket completely replaces the OEM orange semi-rigid gaske. The old gasket MUST be removed for the new gasket to fit, the new gasket WILL NOT fit inside the old gasket and CAN NOT be used with the old gasket installed. The new gasket seats into the throttle body hat, has the same outside wall taper angle from bottom to top as the OEM part, and is directional. On the outside wall of the gasket there is a rib that seats into a channel in the hat, if you look at the pictures you can see a lip that is printed on the bottom edge. The lip goes DOWN and sits on top of the throttle body. The lip should be flush, but can be slightly recessed (.5mm) from the bottom edge of the hat depending on the intake hat. Some of the hats have a slightly deeper seating area, without a good set of digital calipers it's impossible to tell visually. The lip is there to help determine top from bottom and lets you know when the gasket is seated properly. If it is slightly recessed it’s ok, it will still work. The easiest method I have found to install and remove the throttle body hat is to loosen the hose clamp that attaches the hat to the airbox flex tube, disconnect the flex tube, and then remove/install the hat. If you are having trouble seating the hat over the throttle body after you have installed the gasket, use a few drops of ATF or similar lubricant on the inside rib that goes over the outside of the throttle body neck. It should hinge into place as designed by GM after seating the metal clip on the front of the throttle body. You are buying just the orange gasket shown, no other parts are for sale. Current gaskets are being printed out of bright orange filament, the
color is close to Chevrolet Orange. If you wish to purchase more than 10 gaskets at once, please contact me first so that I can ensure I have enough stock on hand to fill your order or to let you know it might take a day or two to print your desired amount.
