FurReal Friends Panda Bear Luv Cub Interactive Tiger Electronics 2004 - not work

Here is an animated stuffed animal polar bear, made in 2004 by Tiger Electronics, which at that time was a division of Hasbro. Made in China. The bear is in decent shape, could probably use a light cleaning. Is in a seated position and is about 12 inches tall in that seated position. Takes 3 C-cell batteries, but when I tested him he did nothing. The old batteries were still in there, and I disposed of them and cleaned out the battery box a bit before testing, but still nothing. Likely someone who is much more astute at these electronic toys can get him doing all his stuff, but at the moment, NOT working.
