Original 1666 copper jeton of the Spanish Netherlands under Charles II of Spain (Carlos II), struck at Antwerp (hand privy mark between “16” and “66”). One side shows the rising sun between the Pillars of Hercules with PLVS / VLTRA banners and the motto REDIT • IDEM (“the same returns”). The other side bears the crowned Spanish Habsburg arms within the Golden Fleece chain, legend CAROL • D • G • HISP • ET • IND • REX (for Charles II). Issued as an official reckoning counter, this is an authentic 17th-century piece—not a modern restrike. (Ref. cf.
