Schoenhut Humpty Dumpty Camel Toy, Hand Carved Wooden DromedaryThis old dromedary toy was part of the Humpty Dumpty Circus set made by Schoenhut, an American toy company between 1903 and 1935 when Schoenhut closed its doors.. New figures were added to the poseable circus set each year. I am not certain which year the dromedary was introduced. It has not been reconditioned. The cord tail and one leather ear are missing. The original amber glass eyes are present. It has the scuffs and rubs expected of playtoys of this age. I always think it's a shame if antique toys look new as toys are meant to first be played with and then collected.The toy is about seven inches tall and nine inches long. It stands without support on a flat surface.
