This is a beautiful very early Khmer people’s made vase. It is around 8 to 900 years old and for its age it is in very good condition. It is incredibly well crafted with intricate and beautiful designs carved into the pottery before it was glazed. Has some flea bites to the glazing and some minor things here and there I have photograph them all as best I can. Came from a large private collection of various antiquities. Take a look at all the photos to see general condition and dimensions. Was originally purchased for $600 30+ years ago. The Khmer people are an Austroasiatic people who are believed to have migrated to Southeast Asia from southern China or Northeast India as early as 2000 BCE.They are known as the builders of the Khmer Empire, which flourished from about 802 to 1431 CE and dominated much of mainland Southeast Asia and are now known as the Cambodian people. The Khmer Empire was heavily influenced by Indian culture and religion, particularly Hinduism and Buddhism. The empire's capital was Angkor, near modern Siem Reap, where impressive architectural structures like Angkor Wat were built.
