Spin a fine to medium woollen, worsted, or semi-worsted yarn. Also a good felting fiber, especially good for needle felting. Our favorite fiber for felting around soap, soft but with enough texture to make a good scrubber. We figure we can get 6-8 bars worth out of 4 ounces. Micron count: 23. Its wool has a clear even crimp and is smooth and easy to spin or felt. The sheep are well cared for and are not mulesed. The wool is scoured (washed) using an environmentally-friendly, biodegradable detergent. The wool is then dried and dyed. The dyes comply with the strict EU regulations and garments made from the roving can be certified under the Oeko-Tex Standard 100. The fiber is then gently opened and conditioned. Carding machines align the fibers and remove any foreign matter. It is then gilled and combed.
