Grateful Dead Skull & Roses FD-26 Poster Early Original Printing

Up for auction is an early original third printing of Family Dog 26 for a series of concerts featuring the Grateful Dead at the Avalon Ballroom, September 16 & 17, 1966. The most famous poster from the Family Dog series, the central image illustration was by the artist Edward Joseph Sullivan created to illustrate a quatrain of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley added

color and additional illustrations to create a poster that original printings have only increased in value over the years. This third printing is printed on uncoated stock paper, measures approximately 14 by 20 inches and has a 26(3) on the lower left corner. This example is in very good condition with some discoloration tanning to the reverse poster with some tape on the reverse side.
