This Ede and Son bicorn hat is in excellent condition. The form fitted original tin 'box' holder is also in excellent condition with the interior being a japanned finish and the outside being a flat black. The medallion 'Domino Dirige Nos' translates to Lord Guide Us and is the motto of London. Ede and Son were located at 98/94 Chancery Lane in the late 1700s and although there is not much info out there, this firm pre-dated later partnerships. The beaver skin hat in well preserved as are the tassels and headliner. Look at the pictures and see how wonderful this rare piece is. Insurance is included.
