LEWOL Tabletop Broadcast Receiver Model: LEVORE Hello!! and thank you for looking at my item. ITEM: Up for sale is a vintage and rare tabletop tube radio made by Lewol. INFO: This radio was manufactured by Lewol Mfg. Corp in Chicago, IL around or about 1933. This is a broadcast receiver that contains 4 electron tubes. The principle operation is TRF based with 2 AM that receives signals on MW wave bands. The unit is powered on 117 volts AC/DC. The internal speaker is a Pdyn with a moving coil. The exterior case is made of a thick paper that covered with a vinyl cover. (it looks and feels like thin wood). INSPECTION: The exterior is in good shape with normal wear and tear for an item of its age. There are no cracks in the case that I can see. All of the writing on the front of the unit is visible but worn. It still can be read. The fabric mesh in the speaker grille is in good shape. Both original knobs on the front are present. The volume and tuning knobs turn smoothly. The rear cover is not present. Inside of the unit is dusty and has some minor surface rust on the chassis but everything appears to be in order. All the paper capacitors were removed and replaced with new capacitors. No burn marks or smells emitting from the unit. The tube base on 3 out of the 4 tubes are engraved. TESTING: The unit was tested. All 4 tubes were removed, tested on my Jackson Dynamic Tube Tester and reinstalled (1ea 6D6-tested good, 1ea 6C6-tested strong, 1ea 43-tested weak and 1ea 25Z5-tested strong). The unit was plugged in and powered up slowly with a variac. The radio operates and receives broadcasting signals. The radio does not humm. The radio has a nice clear sound. SUMMARY: The radio tubes have been removed for shipping purposes but will be included in thew package. Original packaging and instructions are not included. This is a very nice radio. Good edition to any vintage radio collection. Check my feedback and buy/bid with confidence!! All of my listings come with fast shipping.
