His given name was Morimasa, his courtesy name was Shigen or Shin, and he was commonly known as Bunzō. "Tetsuzan" was his artistic name. He was the biological son of Mori Shūhō and was adopted by his uncle, Mori Sosen, inheriting the Mori school.
