Listing details

A group of five (5) vintage copper mugs / cups with silver appliques and silver interiors. Each has a copper handle. Each mug/cup has an appliqued band of silver on its outside -- a sort of zig-zag Aztec pattern. See below. Made by Victoria Taxco, ca. 1950's or '60's, these bear the Victoria Taxco mark on the bottom, and the pattern # 482. I've collected (and used) a great deal of Victoria Taxco copperware over several years, and this is a rather scarce set. They're in serviceable condition, with a few small scuffs/marks/indentations here and there. Please examine photos to determine condition. I've photographed both sides of each mug, and have included a few close-ups. Perhaps someone with a bit of time, skill, and elbow grease could smooth them out. They all, as you can see, need a good polishing. This all said... Simply polishing these mugs could make them look (in my opinion) quite nice.Mugs are about 4.65" tall, and the diameter across the top of each is approximately 2.9". Great

size for "tall"/"long" cocktails; e.g. whisky sours, juleps, Tom Collinses, etc. Too, for "Moscow Mules". Also would be neato-keen for iced tea, lemonade, etc. And of course they could be used for hot drinks; with the caveat that copper conducts heat well, and with really hot beverages the mugs could become quite hot themselves. There's some tarnishing, and a bit of oxidation here and there. (After all... They're 60-70 years old!) A good polishing will do wonders. Please examine all photos, as they represent important parts of the description. I've photographed all angles, tops, interior, and bottoms. If you'd like any other pictures or information, please e-mail me and I'll do my best. Please Note: I've estimated shipping cost at $25. If the actual cost to ship to you is less than $25, I'll refund the difference via PayPal. Fair enough?"Victoria" was a shop started in 1940 by a noted Mexican artisan/artist named Ana Maria Nunez Brilanti – one of the original Taxco silver designers of the 1930’s. Respected for her originality and design clarity – as well as for the high quality of her work. The Victoria shop closed in 1975.Thanks for your interest._________________________________________________________________________________________ Please view all pictures carefully in order to judge condition for yourself. Minor wear commensurate with age. Please ask all questions before purchasing or placing an auction bid, and I'll do my best to supply answers. If you anticipate that you'll be unable to handle these time-frames, please contact me before making a bid and/or purchasing. I'll do my utmost to work with you and to accommodate your needs. Shipping available to United States only. No international shipments. I will ship by the method cited in the eBay listing, and shipping charges stated in the listing reflect shipping only by that method. If you require a different shipping method, please contact me before buying or bidding so that we may agree upon shipping cost and shipping method/service.Note: I will ship only to the person whose EBay account was used to make the purchase, at to the shipping address on file for that person at EBay. If you anticipate wanting something shipped to an address or person other than you, please e-mail me before purchasing from me so that we may investigate options. Why am I doing this? Thieves have been committing a lot of fraud by hacking into people’s EBay and/or PayPal accounts, buying things, and then having the items shipped to different people and addresses. This hurts everybody. This happened to me quite recently. If you've completed less than 5 eBay transactions, please contact me before bidding. Please be certain that you agree with these terms before bidding. Thank you for your understanding, and for your business.
