This Maris Louisville Slugger 125 pro model bat dates to the 1964 to 1969 H&B marking period. It was made for game use exclusively by VIRGINIA MILITARY INSTITUTE in Lexington Virginia. It is 34" in length and weighs about 33 ounces. Strong burned-n markings and the knob is fully intact. VMI is branded on the barrel beneath Roger Maris. Very solid and not cracked but has a small piece missing from the top layer of grain on the back of the barrel as the photos will show. Model 016 is stamped into the knob. Roger Maris was a 7 time AL All Star, 2 time AL MVP in 1960 and 1961 and a 3 time world series champion. He is best remembered for hitting 61 Home Runs in 1960 to break the previous record of 60 set by Babe Ruth in 1927. All inquiries are very welcome.
