Beautiful vintage salt glaze stoneware crock made for the Colonial Williamsburg Restoration pottery line. This piece has that classic early American utilitarian look with a rich brown salt glazed finish and subtle speckling throughout the surface. The interior features a soft gray glaze that contrasts nicely with the darker exterior, giving it that authentic colonial reproduction stoneware character collectors love. The base retains the impressed Colonial Williamsburg Restoration mark along with hand incised potter’s initials and qt indicating quart capacity. Pieces like this were produced for the Colonial Williamsburg restoration line and were likely made by Rowe Pottery Works of Cambridge, Wisconsin, a well known American pottery that produced historically inspired stoneware for museums historic sites during the late 20th century. However, this piece does not have the typical Rowe mark, so this attribution cannot be definitive. A wonderful functional form that works beautifully as a small crock, quart vessel, utensil holder, or display piece. It has a great weight and honest handcrafted character that fits perfectly in farmhouse and early American inspired interiors.Approximate measurements:5 inches tall3.75 inches wideCondition:Beautiful vintage condition. No cracks or repairs observed. Light age appropriate shelf wear to the base. Minor glaze variation from the firing process which is typical for salt glaze pottery.__________Please note: Vintage and antique items are pre-loved and may show minor signs of age-related wear. I try to carefully document any flaws accurately. Please review all photos and feel free to reach out with questions before purchase.
