Listing details
This is an unusual letter written on a German prisoner of war form, probably included in a separate cover, sent on Armistice Day 11-11-44 to an American soldier on Adak Island in the Aleutian Islands. It is from his then-girlfriend "Happy Bottom" Libal. She describes her effort to show him this POW form as simply interesting, in a nice newsy letter. I have included a copy of the soldier's obituary with this letter, confirming that he did marry "Happy Bottom" and they were still together when he died at age 98. The letter is in excellent condition.
