For sale by original owner, this Rare PROTOTYPE model of the Discontinued HK Benchmade 14210 Mike Snody design is a manual folder that features the Benchmade patented AXIS function. This PROTOTYPE model has been in owner's safe for nearly 20 years. This PROTOTYPE model has been in owner's safe for nearly 20 years and has a modified drop point blade with a recurve, bead blasted with a plain edge and is marked "Prototype July 2005". The blade has dual thumb studs for ambidextrous opening . The handle on this particular H&K Snody PROTOTYPE has G10 scales machined not only with the same base texture as the production 14210 model, but has additional texture grooves machined in for pre-production approval. (The production models do not have the additional grooves in the scales.) The black arrowhead pocket clip is designed for either right or left handed tip up carry. This folder features all the high quality materials and superb construction expected from a Benchmade knife. The blade opens smoothly and locks up tightly as benefited by the AXIS lock system. Closing the knife is simple: ,pull the AXIS slide down and the blade is released from the locked position.
