This auction is for a high-quality modern reprint of the vintage WWII flight manual entitled "Flight and Operational Manual for the B-29 Bomber". Free shipping in CONUS via USPS Media Mail. For foreign, it will be roughly $23 for USPS International First Class., but please check the postage calculator to be sure. These are not your grandmother's scans. Every page has been hand-corrected to remove as many blemishes as possible. Color correction with a known
color standard sheet was used to get the colors as close to the original as possible. Special care was taken with the half-tone images to make sure all the depth and range of the originals is preserved. Manuals are printed on 24 lb paper and comb-bound with clear plastic front cover and black plastic back sheet. Although the original manual that I scanned is public-domain, this hand-edited edition is copyright James A. Moorer 2009-2010. I have sprinkled small copyright notices throughout the manual. My apologies for this defacement. I hope it is not too distracting. "Flight and Operational Manual for the B-29 Bomber", Boeing Aircraft Company, Seattle, Washington, 242 pages, July 1943. This is one of four manuals for the B-29 bomber produced by the Boeing corporation. See my other auctions for the other manuals in this series. This manual covers the operation of the aircraft. It is done in a kind of cartoon style with detailed drawings of each control. In many ways, these drawings are better than photographs - the artists could accent the important details any way they wished. Some of the sections include General Information, Co-Pilot's Check List, Gunner's Check List, Emergency Procedures, Medical Equipment, Abandonment Procedures, and many more. NOTE THAT THIS REPRINT DOES NOT have a leather snap cover like the original manual has. I have no way of doing that. I have printed a high-quality
color scan of the front and back cover on 32-lb card stock, covered by clear acetate sheets instead of real leather. It looks just like the original but doesn't really have the leather texture - it is a flat, printed image of the original leather. Again, it is NOT AN EXACT REPLICATION OF THE RING-BOUND, LEATHER-COVERED ORIGINAL. It is a reprint of the CONTENT of the manual, but not in the exact FORM of the original manual.
