Rare Antique Hand Painted French Faience Platter Maidens & Doves

Offered is this magnificent rare antique hand painted faience platter made by the Saint Clement factory. This was made during the Louis Philippe period after 1830 when the Romantics became fashionable. It features a beautiful polychrome rim with colorful tulips and flowers. The center features a scantily draped maiden sitting and another person behind her holding a dove as antique dove flies away. It is in excellent antique condition for its age with some rough spots on the edges felt with the finger, four stilt marks on the back from the kiln and a glaze skip also on the back, all which is normal for antique faience and majolica.
