specification depends on different makes and models. 5, Use a socket and ratchet to loosen and remove the bolts. 6, Remove the alternator, then unplug and remove all nuts connecting the electrical components. 7, Remove the alternator from the engine. 8, Check the new alternator and compare it to the old one to make sure the voltage calibrator and pulley match. 9, Install the new alternator using the reverse process of removing the old one. 10, Connect the electric plug and wires on the new alternator. 11, Once the alternator is slid into place, start bolting the old one in the correct position. 12, Put the alternator pulley back in place and secure it. Be sure to check that the pulley is aligned with the belt tensioner. 13, Use the serpentine belt tool to control the desired tension and slide the belt back onto the pulleys, then you can release the tool through the belt tension. 14, Reconnect the battery cables. 15, Start the car and make sure the alternator is charging.
