1939-40 LES CUNNINGHAM Rookie HOCKEY Card OPC V301-1 CHICAGO BLACK HAWKS Card 78

This scarce card was issued in Canada by the O-Pee-Chee Company, of London Ontario Canada. They are listed as series V301-1 in Burdick’s American Card Catalogue. These were issued for the 1939-1940 NHL season Each card features a brilliant black and white photographic image on the featured Player identifying the player’s team and position. The cards are numbered on the front 1-100 and features the words “Lithographed in Canada” on the front. The back is blank as they were issued. It is a uniquely large format card measuring 5 inches by 7 inches approximately. This card is and features LES CUNNINGHAM of the CHICAGO BLACK HAWKS and it is his ROOKIE card The card has creasing and wear, and some discoloration. I have scanned the front and back of the card fairly large so you can determine the condition for yourself. Here is some information i found about him on the internet: Leslie Roy Cunningham (October 4, 1913 – April 9, 1993) was a Canadian ice hockey player. He played 60 games in the National Hockey League with the New York Americans and Chicago Black Hawks between 1936 and 1940. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1933 to 1949, was mainly spent in the American Hockey League. The American Hockey League presents the Les Cunningham Award annually to its league MVP. Cunningham was born in Calgary, Alberta.
