This Listing is for ONE NEW Miniature Souvenir Sheet of a Single 5¢ SIPEX Imperforate Stamp from 1966.Mint. MNH. No flaws. Original undisturbed gum. From a Smoke-free and Pet-free Environment.The U.S. Postal Service issued these SIPEX gummed 5¢ imperforate mini souvenir stamp sheets on May 23, 1966 in Washington, DC. The sheet, designed by Brook Temple of New York City, measures 2 7/8" by 4 1/4". To the right of the line drawing of the Capitol and Washington Monument is "Discover America," the theme of President Johnson's program to encourage travel in the United States by Americans and foreign visitors.This SIPEX issue was released to recognize the Sixth International Philatelic Exhibition in Washington, DC in 1966. It was the first international stamp show ever held in the Nation's capital. All five previous US international philatelic exhibitions had been held in New York City.
