Meissen Hand Painted Birds & Gold Old Brandenstein Demitasse Cup & Saucer C.1745 Nice antique mid 18th century German porcelain demitasse cup and saucer in the "Old Brandenstein" shape. Decorated with hand painted birds & insects. Gold gilding along the edge and gold highlights to the handle. Has the hand painted underglaze blue crossed swords mark used by Meissen. Circa 1745. Has some wear to the gilding, and a few small flakes to the foot rim of the saucer. Otherwise good condition. The cup measures approximately 3 5/8 inches wide including the handle x 1 1/2 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 4 3/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
