Listing details

This is a very hard to find, if not rare, authentic ancient Roman coin. It is labeled as Vespasian from 73 AD. It is a silver denarius that measures 19 mm and weighs 3.38 g. It is the laureate style head looking right and reads IMP-CAES-VESP-AVG-CENS. The reverse side reads Pontif Maxim. I did see this referred to as a Flavian Tribute Penny. Minted in Rome. Very nice condition with very nice detail and a dark patina. Guaranteed 100% authentic. I recently bought a collection of 10 Roman coins that were in the original folder from the 1930s and it was marked No. 461 Wayte Raymond Inc. NY. After a little research, I found that this company dealt in very high-end antique coins during the 1920s and up to the 1950s. The set that this came out of was titled Coins of Bible. This listing here is only for the one Vespasian coin as shown in the pictures. Please ask if you have any questions. Check out my eBay store for more neat and obscure antiques.
