This is a great affordable synthetic shaving brush! I loaded it with the well-known 24mm AP Shave Co. Tuxedo bulb-style knot. This knot has many names, (I prefer Faux Skunk), but they all mean a great synthetic knot with super-soft tips that still has enough backbone to whip up a shaving lather in a decent amount of time. It’s one of the first synthetic knots to truly rival badger hair. This knot is IMO one of the most versatile of the more affordable synthetic knots, it’s soft enough for shaving cream yet still stiff enough for shaving soap. It loads soap and whips up a luxurious lather far quicker than all but a few synthetic knots, plus it’s bulb shape flings less soap around your bathroom. Since it’s tips are very scrubby, I set the loft at 60mm for maximum flop, softness and splay, while still possessing enough backbone, making it ideal for face latherers. This beast definitely punches above its class, give it a try, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with its performance! This would make an excellent face lathering brush, vegan brush, beginners brush, travel brush or a daily driver. It also comes with a plastic spice jar that makes a top-notch travel case! Once your brush is cleaned off and you have the excess water worked out of the knot, place it in the spice jar, then flip up the little doors so it can finish drying.
