Presented is a fabulous German 800 silver pierced ladle or sugar sifter, dating to the mid 1800's. The bowl of the ladle is done in a lovely six lobed design, with little fan shapes in the indentations between the lobes. The bowl is intricately pierced with floral and foliate shapes, different in each panel. The handle has a monogram of TWH in Gothic lettering. The ladle is stamped with a German hallmark for the city of Hamburg, a guildmaster mark of HDS, and an assay mark. This piece is in great overall condition. The handle has a reinforcement on the back where it meets the bowl, where the handle likely broke off in the past, but this reinforcement is very well done and sturdy. There are no other repairs, no splits, and no monogram removals. This piece is about 6 3/4 inches long. This ladle is at least Silver.
