PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION THOROUGHLY and LOOK AT THE PHOTOS!This sale is for brand new can motor flywheel and re-gear upgrade kit for the MDC Roundhouse boxcab diesel or Climax steam locomotive. This kit will provide smooth low speed operation, and operating noise will be greatly reduced. The new motor has very high torque, and it is silent when operating at 12 VDC. This motor will start turning smoothly on 1 volt DC. This kit is designed to replace the old Pittman style open frame motor, not the newer square MDC motor. The newer version MDC motor is a good quality motor, and it does not need to be replaced. This kit also replaces the noisy MDC motor pinion gear, idler gear, and flywheel. This kit will work in later versions that have the idler gear mounted inside the bull gear housing, modifications would be required. Please check your locomotive before purchasing this kit. This may save you the hassle of returning the kit.The new motor measures 16mm wide x 12mm high x 27mm long. The motor shaft is 1.5mm in diameter and it is 6mm long. The flywheel measures 13mm in diameter and it is 13mm long. The flywheel shaft is 2.4mm in diameter and it is 16mm long. The replacement motor pinion gear is bored for a 2.4mm shaft. The motor kit comes with one can motor, flywheel, flywheel shaft, a new motor pinion gear, hook up wire, and illustrated installation instructions. See 2nd photo for contents of the motor kit. What you see in the 2nd photo is what you will receive. At 12 volts DC with no load, this motor draws 50ma and develops 9550rpm, the stall current at 12 VDC is 1 amp. This motor is DCC compatible. The 1st photo shows what the motor kit looks like installed on an MDC boxcab chassis. The photo is for illustration only.
