Offered is a signed studio art pottery bowl by American potter J. Edward Barker, dated 1988. Barker worked in Wellington, Kansas and is known for his hand-thrown stoneware pieces featuring carved and incised decorative designs.This piece is a beautifully shaped stoneware vessel with a warm brown clay body and dark glazed interior. The exterior features hand-incised bands with flowing decorative script and lines that wrap around the entire bowl, giving it a distinctive artistic look. The form sits on a small footed base and shows the natural character typical of handmade studio pottery.The bowl is hand signed and dated “1988” by the artist. The original artist business card from Barker’s studio in Wellington, Kansas is included.Condition:Very good overall condition with no chips or cracks observed.
