DescriptionVintage satin green pressed glass powder jar lid featuring a molded elephant finial. The elephant stands on a round pedestal base with its trunk gently curled forward. The glass has a soft frosted satin finish that highlights the molded details of the ears, trunk, and body.This piece was originally part of a Depression / Art Deco era vanity or dresser set powder jar. The lid has a gently domed (convex) top and a molded inner rim designed to sit on a matching jar base.Elephant motifs were a popular decorative element in vanity and dresser set pieces of the 1930s and 1940s. Even without the original jar base, the lid displays nicely as a decorative elephant figurine, vanity accent, or paperweight.Condition:Good vintage condition. One tiny chip on underside of lid, but no or cracks observed. Light surface wear consistent with age where it appears a sticker sat for a long time and left the satin finish kind of clear?!
