VTG Schuco Radio 4012 Windup Car/Music Box Maroon Complete Works US-Zone GermanyA beautiful example of a post-war German Schuco Radio 4012 collectible toy car. Complete and fully operative, this 1:32 scale convertible is finely detailed, and an engineering marvel given its age!The automobile has two windup motors, one on the left rear panel which, when wound, turns the rear tires, and one on the bottom, engaging a Swiss-made Thorens music box. Both wind up mechanisms turn smoothly and the springs appear tight. Unsure as to what tune is played, but it rings clear and lovely. The tin litho dashboard has a switch which turns the music box on and off and an articulated steering wheel which moves the front tires left or right. A lever brake located to the right of the seat slows the car when turned clockwise 90 degrees. The manually extendable antenna is located on the left side of the hood.All original with authentic parts including Schuco wind up key and Cord 250 tires, which show minimal tread wear. color with red seats. Shows less than average wear with only a few light scratches and scuffs (see photos). No missing or broken parts. Measures 6 1/4" long x 2 1/4" wide x 2 1/2" tall, and weighs 9 oz. Although it does not come with the original box and instructions, this automobile is in exceptional and absolutely gorgeous vintage condition and functions flawlessly as designed. Discovered recently at the estate sale of a local Spokane, WA antiques dealer, where is laid untouched in storage for years.We will carefully pack this gem using gently recycled materials, fully insure and send within one to two business days via standard delivery to USA addresses.
