Up for auction is this Collectible Convention Pie Bird Pretty Bird by Sweetie PiesThis 3rd Pie Bird Collectors Convention commemorative pie bird was held in Paris, TN. 2000 was the only year the convention committee approved two commemorative pie birds. These pie birds were only sold to those who attended the convention. She measures 4” tall and is marked: 3rd Pie Bird Collectors Convention * June 2000 (on the outside) and Mary * 2000 * (on the inside). The raised floral design on the underside of the birds’ wings is achieved by using a special technique called clay-lifting. Each floral design has 35 cuts! As you can see in the photos the flowers are lifted to give them a three dimensional effect. The tops of her wings have a beautiful pink opalescence hue.
