The top piece of the shelf is wood. There is a plate rest groove in the top is suitable display plates, pictures or photos. Each have metal hooks for hanging- they look like a modification- Picture 12, very sturdy for heavy items Great Vintage condition- no cracks or chips, appropriate wear for age and use.
