The wine producing regions of each country are shown in a different colour and the inset table gives overall production figures. Mountain ranges are depicted with some relief shading and major towns and roads are marked. While the principal regions are named, the amount of detail varies and, since it was printed in France, there is more detail for the French regions with regions such as Bordeaux showing the Medoc sector, the Italian regions only have administrative names for example Tuscany but not Chianti.
