They are made in Mooresville, Indiana, USA. The barrettes have very detailed tooling patterns. The photos are of the exact barrettes being offered. The stick is made of lathe-turned hardwood, very sturdy and finished in an attractive dark stain. Our barrettes are great for getting your hair up and out of the way, or just for making a fashion statement. I make my barrettes in two sizes :SHORT:2 5/8 inches from center of hole to center of hole3 5/8 inches from end to endLONG:3 1/4 inches from center of hole to center of hole 4 1/4 inches from end to endThis listing is for 2 LONG BARRETTES.Sets numbered 1 to 199 are short. 200 through 399 are long.We so often hear, "Oh, I can't wear those. My hair is too thin." Or, "Oh, I can't wear those. My hair is too thick." NOT TRUE!! If your hair is long enough for a ponytail, you can wear our barrettes. Just put your hair up in an elastic hair band. Then add the barrette by spearing the stick above the hairband. You do not have to surround all of your hair and the barrette can't slip off because it is trapped above the hair band. If you want to put your hair up in a bun, put it in a ponytail first. Then twist your hair up and add the barrette. If your hair is really thick, get one of our long barrettes.
