Restored antique vintage 22cm fish skin riqq tambourine mosaic

Restored antique vintage 21-22cm fish skin riqq (late 20th century) with mosaic in great playable condition. Diameter = 21cm-22cm (due to warping with age)Frame Depth = 6cmCymbal Diameter = 6cmWeight = 630gThis is a beautiful hand-made antique piece and a collector's item, restored to a great playable condition with original Sa'idi (docmak) Egyptian fish skin. The frame shows minor warping and some tiny pieces of mosaic are missing, which is normal with antiques. The edge of the frame has a longitudinal crack that occurs with age and has been repaired to be stable. The cymbals are mixed, 1 slot out of 5 has replacement cymbals, the rest I believe are originals. Finally the skin that was glued on the frame is a few millimeters short in a few places, but has also been stable. I attach pictures of all these imperfections. As a result this riq is being discounted, however it still sounds amazing (see video) and its antique mosaic is beautiful inside and outside. Care Instructions: As with all fish skin instruments, the skin will sag a little in humid weather and tighten in dry weather. Use an electric heating pad to gently tighten the skin when needed. Do not over-tighten. Do not store in very dry spaces, next to a heater, or on top of cabinets, as the skin will eventually rip. Store away from heat sources.
