UNBELIEVABLE PRICE!!! Four Stamps For Sale: 1d Brown (26), 1d Carmine (29), 2d Green (31), 4d Blue (37). Australia Van Diemens Land (Tasmania) 1857-1869 Queen Victoria Chalon Head Series. Used. Imperf. I decided to price this group at AUD$350 which I believe is a very low price for such quality stamps. I have graded these as between Fine to Very Fine overall. They were the property of an extremely well known Northern Suburbs NSW Stamp club that closed down. The Stamp Club recreated itself in a different part of NSW & about 15 years ago decided to auction the contents of that safe. I was the lucky winning bidder and this became easily the largest investment I had ever made in the world of stamps. The great thing about these and all the others I will be auctioning from this auction win, is that the stamps have gone through a vigorous process of authentication. Firstly, the staff officials of the business authenticate each stamp... giving them their Stanley Gibbons identification numbers, along with respective prices exclusively for their membership. These stamps were then placed in books which were then circulated via post to one club member at a time.... that member would then upon choosing a stamp to purchase, remove it & sign in the now empty space, and include a cheque made out to the club upon the books return. The book would then be sent out to the next club member waiting in line. In this process stamps became authenticated not merely by stamp club officials, but also by their entire club membership!!!!!!AI DescriptionDelve into the rich philatelic history of Australia with these Tasmania Van Diemens Land QV 1857 stamps, featuring the classic Chalon head design. These postage stamps, denominated in pre-decimal currency with 1d, 2d, and 4d values, showcase a timeless multi-coloured palette that captures the essence of the era. Crafted during the reign of Queen Victoria, these stamps embody a piece of Australian heritage linked to royalty, reflecting the culture and history of the region. Each stamp is a testament to the era's craftsmanship, with each imperforated edge preserving the authenticity of this historical collection.PERSONAL INFORMATION Hi, my name is Henry Butler and i have been selling rare vinyl on eBay under the name balmain_tiggy for over 10 years now. When I was 12 my mother took me to my first auction in Northamptonshire, England. Mum loved buying collectables and at this auction I purchased my first stamp collection! After that I was hooked and have been regularly visiting auctions in both England and now in Australia since arriving here in 1990. I am 59 years of age now, and since inheriting Dad's amazing stamp & FDC collection, along with Mum's beyond amazing jewellery, have been preparing to sell my own stamp collection as well as items from their collections on eBay whilst maintaining my daily vinyl updates on balmain_tiggy eBay. Whilst selling thousands of records over this last decade, I have maintained a 100% feedback and countless testimonials from my wonderful clients. Please feel free to check for yourselves on balmain_tiggy, eBay... and whilst there, why not nab yourself a rare Beatles or Rolling Stones album etc...
