Listing details

Up for sale, a 1980 Roland G-33 Bass Synthesizer Controller and GR-33B Synthesizer in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original 24-pin cable and hardshell case. Produced at the Fujigen factory in Japan, the G-33 was a bass variant of Roland’s pioneering GR-300 Guitar Synth. A decidedly unique, versatile tool that can produce a fast array of tones, the GR-33B has been used by artists as diverse as Béla Fleck, Haruomi Hosono, and Michael Anthony.Tonewoods on the G-33 controller include a maple neck (set-neck construction), ash body, and slab rosewood fretboard, weighing 9lbs 7oz. The PU-144S single coil pickup is warm and round, yielding plenty of low end heft without sacrificing treble detail and articulation, resulting in an almost acoustic/standup-like tone. Of course the star of the show are the myriad sounds achievable via the combination of the G-33 and the GR-33B. This G-33 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.
