$500 Confederate CSA Chemicograph Straker London 4th Printing PMG 66 Gem UNC EPQ A great addition to any collection of Confederate Currency are these enigmatic Chemicograph backs. Originally designed in England for use on the backs of the 1864 Confederate Currency series. The plates were made from lead and nickel, with wood bakcing, produced by the chemicograph electrotype process. These designs were not used on the banknotes and the blue backs were adopted. Reprinted from the original plates many times since the 1860s, this is a 1957 printing. Hard to improve on the quality of this Gem 66 EPQ piece, with blast white paper, rich color, sharp printing, and full borders, beautifully centered. This is a large
