FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION: EARLY VINTAGE JAPANESE KATO N-SCALE 206 D51 (2-8-2) STEAM LOCO IN NEW AND UNRUN CONDITION IN ORIGINAL JEWEL CASE COMPLETE WITH MOLDED CRADLE, PAPER INSERT, NUMBER BOARD SHEET, TWO SETS OF INSTRUCTIONS, INSPECTION SLIP PLUS ANOTHER DECAL SHEET. This loco features a very heavy diecast split frame, a powerful can motor, 2 traction tires, all wheel tender pickup and rapido coupler. Loco is not factory equipped with headlight illumination. The OEM jewel case is in beautiful condition. First time out of box for a short track test which revealed powerful smooth operation through the full throttle range, in both directions as one woukd expect from Japanese Kato. As loco is new, unrun except for a very short distsnce, a light lube to drive gears is recommended before putting into regular service. The winning bidder will be pleased with the crisp cosmetics, handsome lines and nice track performance of this vintage Kato Steamer. Please note: coal load insert looks to be sticking up a bit in back and maybe was not seated properly at factory. If incorrect, will leave to new caretaker to make proper adjustment if required.
