Vintage Set 22 Piece AMBERONE Pountney & Co Bristol TEACUP SAUCER PLATE TRIO SETS EnglandCirca 1923This type of set is known as a 'Tea Trio' traditionally for a cup of tea and a piece of cake, etc This 22 piece set includes: 6 cups with 8 matching saucers, saucers have indent in center for cup. This leaves 2 extra saucers as 'spares' or to be used otherwise8 salad/dessert plates[It is a tea trio service for 8, but missing 2 cups] Cup Size Approx. 2.5" tall x 3.5" across, base is 2"Saucer 5 7/8" across with a circle indent in center for cupRound dessert/salad plate is 6 7/8" acrossFantastic for a special tea or dessert service. These pieces are completely hand painted and feature a blue flower on one side and a yellow flower on the other, with peach colored border rims and brown scalloped painted designs. Large green leaves. Cream colored background. These are handmade in England and are done very deliberately in the style of famous British Pottery Artist Clarice Cliff. They are NOT made by Ms. Cliff but are homages to her distinctive style. Excellent antique condition- one plate has a very shallow SMALL flake off back and one saucer has one tiny shallow flake off back. See last 2 pics. One saucer has a minor amount of dark crazing on BACK [not front] over a few inches space. Minor light crazing throughout glaze on all pieces which is not darkened and hard to notice, normal for age. No nicks chips cracks scratches wear or repair to any of the 22 pieces. No fading, richly colored, glossy, hand painted design without wear. See all pics and use zoom. A charming & unique set.
