NYC (MACO) struck a series of high relief medals commemorating the California missions. Much of the history of this series has been lost to time, but I have been able to substantiate the following . Fourteen different medals were struck in bronze and in silver. Each medal sold to the public was struck in a highly reflective proof finish.
