size and
color are becoming very difficult to obtain, as the mine it came from is no longer producing. Sonora Sunrise is the trade name for a rock that is comprised of blue green chrysocolla, Red cuprite, black tenorite, and orange chalcocite. High grade collector quality specimens may also include azurite, malachite, geothite, and pyrite. This Sonora Sunrise slab lot includes 2 pieces of "Crimson Cuprite." These two pieces predominantly red with black that appears like layers on green/blue chrysocolla. I want to point out - one of the slabs was showing some dark coloring - I gave it a bit of a scrub and the dark
color came out. (these are very old stock) The individual photos show the slabs after they were cleaned. The measurements are as shown in the photos: 3"x1.8"x7.8mm, and 2.25"x2"x7.8. No pits, vugs, or fractures. These pieces are intended for lapidary use.
