For sale we have a Shigaraki Ware Handmade Lucky Tanuki Vintage Japanese Raccoon Dog Figurine AE. I believe this is a pretty early Shigaraki piece. It appears to be made of Terracotta or clay. I know most Shigaraki ware pieces are listed as ceramic but this doesn’t look ceramic to me. It measures right around 8” tall, 9” wide, and 9” in depth. It’s pretty heavy, weighing right around 6 lbs 4 ounces. It’s hard to make it out but it looks like the letters AE or AB in the button hole on the side. Didn’t see a signature on it. It has some wear, fading, and a little bit of paint loss. It looks like the top of the jacket hand cuff has a chip and it looks like there’s a crack to the fan it’s holding. Overall it’s a rare piece that looks pretty great for it’s age. It could use a proper cleaning as I just wiped it down with a wet cloth. Please check pictures and message me if you have any questions. Item is sold as is. Buyer to pay for shipping.
