VHF / UHF DUAL BAND ANTENNA ( NEW ). Condition is New. This is a New K5BJM 2 Meter and 70cm antenna. Covers all of 2 meter band under 1.4 to 1 SWR. Also covers the 70cm band 440.00- 450.00 Please know that this antenna is designed for 2 meters. The operation of it on the 70cm band is on a harmonic of the 2 meter band. The SWR on 70cm will be higher than on the 2 meter band. This is a Vertically polarized unidirectional antenna, rated to handle 300 watts. The antenna is about 62 inches long and has about a 7 foot coax lead to connect to your Radio. It has a coax choke at the bottom to ensure the Antenna radiates and not the coax. I manufacture these myself. I have sold many of these and have not had anyone unhappy with it. I build these out of HD Copper Clad Steel Ladder Line. I use Heavy Duty RG8X direct bury UV Resistant coax,(NOT THE CHEAPER RG 58 that others use ). I use the new PL 259 male Crimp/Soldier connection ( that is considered the best) then sealed with shrink tubing. The entire antenna is sealed for permanent exterior use. This antenna will connect directly to your radio with a male PL259 connection. There are other manufacturers of this antenna that are cheaper, because they use cheaper parts. If you want the best antenna you can buy, that will last a lifetime, then this is the best one. This antenna will outperform ANY J-Pole antenna by 1 to 2 s units on receive and transmit. It offers up to 6 Db of gain. The secret of its outstanding performance is its take-off angle of only 4 degrees (the lowest of any other antenna). The lower the better. J- Poles have a take-off angle of 25 - 35 degrees. This is why it outperforms other types of Antennas. It can be used inside home or RV or outside permanently or portable. It fits in a Quart

size bag easily and can be even rolled up smaller to fit in a pocket. Hanging in a tree at 20 feet I hit repeaters 50+ miles away, your results may vary depending on your terrain. Twisting of the antenna when hung has no effect on radiation pattern. I tune each of these antennas 1 at a time so you always get the lowest SWR possible, normally 1.0 to 1, at center Frequency on 2 meters ! Hang antenna from the hole at top with string or rope, not wire, it must have at least 2 feet clearance on all sides, and of coarse the higher you hang it the better it will perform.
