Casey is one of Australia’s three permanent Antarctic research stations, located 3,430 km southwest of Hobart. The minisheet contains 4 stamps: 2 × $1 + 2 × $2 (total face value $6). Designs depict: Early station buildings connected by aerodynamic corrugated iron tunnel (to withstand violent winds). Modern Casey station (opened Dec 1988) with concrete foundations and steel‑clad polystyrene foam exterior. Aurora Basin drill site (550 km from Casey) – ice cores providing climate data. Casey in blizzard/drift conditions among rocky islands on the Antarctic ice cap edge.
