Ralph wrote a note in this Book on a Baseball page and signed it (see photos) and also corrected a printed line on the previous page including his name in the content.Ralph Kiner was a famous American Major League Baseball player and a long-time broadcaster.Here are some key facts about his life and career:Playing Career: An outfielder, he played for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1946–1953), the Chicago Cubs (1953–1954), and the Cleveland Indians (1955).Power Hitter: He was one of the game's premier sluggers, leading the National League in home runs for seven consecutive seasons (1946–1952), a feat matched by no other player. He finished his career with 369 home runs.Hall of Fame: He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1975. His uniform number 4 is retired by the Pirates.Broadcasting: Following his playing career, he became a beloved broadcaster for the New York Mets from their inception in 1962 until 2013, a tenure of over 50 years.
