img Lake Erie Maps & Prints An Authentic Antique Print: Not a Modern Reproduction! We are Glad to Combine Multiple Items to Save Shipping Fees Free US Shipping on 5 or More Maps and Prints Description: It is an authentic 115 year old Antique Wood block Print from Frank Leslie's Famous Leaders and Battle Scenes of the Civil War (New York, 1896). Frank Leslie was perhaps best known for his documentation of the Civil War in his Illustrated Weekly Newspaper that chronicled the war. The best of these illustrations were reissued in combined volumes and histories after the war. He sent artists to the battle fields to sketch the events, which were then brought back to his printing company where they were cleaned up and turned into illustrations. The print is not mounted, matted nor framed being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic. There are illustrations or text on the reverse. Overall, a very nicely preserved print that would frame up well! Size: The entire page measures 11 1/2 by 17" (30x43cm) Condition: It is in Very Good to Excellent condition. There is one minor half inch edge tear with archival repair on reverse, otherwise a very clean and well preserved print that would frame up well, see the pics for more on condition. The pics are of the actual print.
