Listing details

This really handsome round base 1930 B-1 bodied Western Electric round base telephone has had minimal changes throughout the years. Original paint is super nice with only the typical wear in the cradle area. The 4H dial is properly calibrated and lubricated to Western Electric specs and works nicely. It's the old 2-H model that they upgraded, and still bears the nomenclature on its outer rim - highly desirable. The number card "KEllogg" was created on my computer to look like an original. The Bakelite handset was totally disassembled, cleaned, hand sanded and machine polished to a nice shine. It is without any issues. It transmits sounds both ways beautifully. It sports it original tightly-woven Western Electric cord that is in pristine condition and has not been available for decades. The cord connecting the phone to the subset ringer is a new one, woven like the old ones. (I can't afford to buy any of these any longer, because they are $55 plus shipping.) The subset has the upgraded ringer that Western Electric used in the 1940's forward, and the twin bells of this mechanical ringer will beckon you to answer an incoming call. The subset cover is the original old Bakelite without any chips or cracks. It looks as though it received a light coat of black paint at some time in its life, but I can't imagine why.I removed the old crappy, dirty leather base and put on a brand new one for you. It keeps the phone from slipping, while simultaneously protecting your finest furniture from scratches.Everything has been done for you such that this fine instrument is truly plug-n-play right out of the box. Check with your phone provider to ensure they support rotary dialing. If not, converters are readily available online such as the Rotatone. Also, this phone will work 100% paired with XLink BT to your cell phone's Bluetooth. You will get a genuine dial tone and can dial out and receive calls with that ingenious device.Ships USPS Ground Advantage, packed to withstand shipper's abuse. Thanks! -Eddie
