In this perfectly pastel parody of the mythos of Jacques Cousteau, celebrity oceanographer Steve Zissou sets off on a quest to find the mythical shark that apparently really killed his partner, with a crew that includes his estranged wife, a journalist, and a man who may or may not be his son. It's dense with deadpan dialogue, meticulously arranged

color schemes, and all the tiny grace notes that make a Wes Anderson film. It was written by Anderson and Noah Baumbach and was filmed in and around Naples, Ponza, and the Italian Riviera.
