THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY AUCTION. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND MY POLICIES BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID. Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list! This listing is for a vintage soprano saxophone mouthpiece. There is no brand name on it, but it looks like a Buescher type blank. It might have originally come with a Buescher made stencil soprano sax, which would account for it being unbranded. A helpful fellow ebayer, who happens to be one of the leading authorities on vintage saxophones, tipped me off to the possibility that this might be for a key of "C" soprano. The reasoning for this is that it is slightly shorter in length than a Buescher Bb soprano mouthpiece, and it has a flat spot on the shank for the reed to overhang. I can't confirm either way, so please check out the pictures, consider the measurements, and make your own determination. The length is 2 & 7/16th's inches (61.95mm). This mouthpiece most likely dates to the 1920's. The design is typical of that era. It has a very large round chamber and deeply scooped inner side walls. The tip opening measures in at ". This mouthpiece is made of hard rubber, not plastic. This mouthpiece is in good used condition. There are a few minor nicks on the facing and a tiny chip on the corner of the tip, but it still plays quite well despite this. It would probably be better yet if it were to be refaced. There are no tooth indentations on the beak. There is minimal scratching/scuffing on the exterior. The rubber is quite faded/discolored. It has been cleaned/sanitized. Please feel free to message me with any questions. Thanks again for looking!02/28/26-1-I
